Dear Summer at Wooster, As someone who never attended camp as a child, I had no idea what to expect. Plus, it was going to be my sons’ first real camp experience, and leaving them in someone else’s care for an entire day was completely daunting to me! I was nervous about how they would get from one activity to the next safely, and how they would manage as non-independent swimmers in a pool with several other children.
But after some time, my fears completely disappeared as I noticed such happy and increasingly independent boys waking up each weekday excited to get to camp and start their day. At the end of each day, they would tell me stories of special friendships they had made, new skills they had learned, and how patient and supportive the Summer at Wooster staff were with them. By then, I knew I had enrolled them in the right camp.
The staff was always professional, yet warm and welcoming at the same time. It was touching to see how they made each child feel special by taking the time to get to know their likes and dislikes, areas of weakness, and to encourage their strengths. Please let the staff know that they made a difference … and they provided six-year-old twins brothers with wonderful memories of their first camp experience.
From my perspective as a parent and from what my children experienced, Summer at Wooster certainly lived up to its reputation. |
