During the past 13 years, Summer at Wooster has achieved a premier reputation for providing one of the best summer camp experiences in the New England region. It’s no coincidence that dozens of area summer camps are trying to duplicate Summer at Wooster and it’s no secret that our professionalism, creativity, care, and programming have raised the bar. Why settle for a camp that is trying to be Summer at Wooster, when you can experience the real thing for yourselves?

Our objective is to help each camper enjoy a happy and healthy summer vacation while making new friends, developing new interests, and acquiring new skills.  We maintain a recognizable community atmosphere, which is something that sets us apart from most other camps.

Summer at Wooster provides an opportunity for children to develop both academically and athletically. We encourage curiosity, promote leadership, applaud teamwork, build confidence, and foster respect.

Here are the reasons why our campers and families return year after year:

  • Our camper-to-teacher ratio is 8-to-1 which means that our campers receive more individual attention than at most other camps.
  • Our staff is mainly comprised of professional teachers who are experienced, dynamic, responsible, fun, and most of all, love working with kids.
  • Our facilities include: an in-ground swimming pool, 12 acres of playing fields, 3 computer rooms, air-conditioned classrooms, nature trails, a 15-element low ropes adventure course, 6 tennis courts, 3 separate full-length gymnasiums, a Black Box theater, music rooms, a dark room, and a ceramic studio.
  • Our philosophy is to provide an equal balance of fun and learning in a safe, Fun Artsupportive, and stimulating environment.  The Enrichment Program offers the opportunity for serious in-depth study along with healthy doses of fun, games, theater, and play.  The Recreation Program focuses on teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, determination, motivation, and skill building.
  • We offer more courses than any other camp in the region, including cooking, music, computers, dance, magic, science, swimming, recreational activities, sports, theater, tennis, and much more.
  • We are the only camp to offer the opportunity to combine a half day of Enrichment with a half day of Recreation.
  • The return rate for both our camper and staff populations are above 80%; one of the highest in the area. This indicates that our program has met expectations on both fronts.
  • Last year, more than 600 campers, representing 32 different cities and nearly every public and private school in the area, attended our program.
  • We are one of the very few camps that has an active outreach program.
  • Our commitment to cultural, ethnic, economic, social and racial diversity in both our camper and staff population creates an atmosphere that is inclusive and allows us to celebrate our differences.
