Wooster School Ultimate Frisbee Selected To Prestigious New England Tournament
Posted 05/19/2017 09:16AM

The Wooster School Ultimate Frisbee team is having its finest year in school history, currently with a record of 12-3! The team is ranked 51st in the nation and 4th in the state of Connecticut. Wooster is behind perennial powers Hotchkiss, Middletown and Xavier, all significantly larger schools. The team placed third in the recently completed state tournament, upsetting Xavier 15-7 in what was probably the team's finest game of the year. Wooster clinched the 3rd place spot by winning the consolation game against HVAL rival Watkinson 9-3. Up next is the HVAL Championship game at Watkinson School on Friday, May 19 at 4:30 pm.

The team has, for the first time in school history, qualified to play in the First Division of the New England Prep School Ultimate League (NEPSUL) Tournament. Wooster goes in as the 4th seed in a tournament with only six teams from all over New England, including Northfield Mount Hermon, Phillips Academy, Hotchkiss School, Deerfield Academy, and Concord Academy. It will be a tough tournament, but the team is anxious to compete with the best in New England. The tournament will be held on Saturday, May 20, starting at 9:00 am at Choate Rosemary Hall.
