Wooster School twelfth grade student, Julia Bauer, received the Student of the Month Award from the Danbury chapter of the National Exchange club on January 10. The Danbury Exchange Club honors high school seniors who are outstanding students in school and community who have volunteered for service activities and have demonstrated academic success and leadership qualities.
Our commitment to learning is demonstrated by our dedication to the art and craft of teaching. A culture of thinking offers intellectual rigor and enrichment, while developing deeper meaning in disciplinary areas of interests. We invite you to visit our campus on Wednesday, January 16 at 9:00 am, so you get to know us better, see our spaces, and meet our students, teachers, and parents. We want you to get to know why learning, relationships, community, compassion, and action matter so much at Wooster.
The Wooster School Board of Trustees and Head of School, Matt Byrnes, have announced the phasing out of Wooster's Lower School program over the next two years. "While we have seen record enrollment growth in our Upper School program, which is up over 50% in the last five years, we have been unable to maintain healthy enrollment numbers in our Lower School."
Wooster School's athletic celebrations are a unique experience. The athletics department continues to seek ways to balance the "team" experience with that of the "individual." Finding room for student-athletes, coaches, and parents to reflect and share their favorite memories is a community and team building exercise and one that we feel is important to the success of our program.
Early last week, students from the Center for Social Impact enthusiastically collected turkeys and other donated food items from Wooster families, faculty, and staff for the Daily Bread Food Pantry.
