Putting Good Out There

Not only do gifts fund current year initiatives, in some cases, donors help set up programs for the coming year. In 2014-15 two Wooster families stepped forward to help fund an initiative born from our culture of giving. The Center for Social Impact and Innovation opens in the fall of 2015 and will be the hub of Wooster’s efforts to create and sustain meaningful social change. From service learning to student fundraising, the Center is where Wooster students will shape the world around them and put good to work in our communities and the world.

Thank you to the Jim and Laura Heneghan for their gift to seed the Wooster School Impact Fund. Managed by Wooster Upper School students, the Impact Fund will allow students to gift, grant, and loan monies to charitable organizations. Additional support from the Unger family has created additional resources for programming and staffing. Special thanks and congratulations to Glenn Unger '16 for the success of his book, Keith's Courage, and for the donation of book sales in May 2015 to support the Center for Social Impact and Innovation.

Thanks to these families for helping shape the Center and the work ahead for students, families, alumni and others interested in social entrepreneurship and creating meaningful change.
