Boys Lacrosse Recap
Posted 04/12/2019 02:25PM

After a tough loss last week against King, the Wooster boys lacrosse team is back at it. The boys took on Hamden Hall last Tuesday and suffered a tough loss with a score of 15-6. The team held them close in the first half, but Hamden Hall blew the game open in the 3rd quarter scoring several goals.

Later on that week the boys went head to head against Rye Country Day. The game was pretty evenly matched in the first half and the boys were only down by a goal at the end of two. Much like Hamden Hall, Rye scored several goals and held our offense to one goal for the whole second half.

After the tough losses, the boys got back on the practice field Monday where they quickly got to work. Coach Rexford and Coach Tarcy made sure the offense and defense were fully prepared for St Luke's on Tuesday. The boys came out strong, scoring a quick one early in the first quarter and setting the tone for the rest of the game. Both teams played very well. At the end of regulation both teams were tied 7-7, forcing the game into overtime.

St. Luke's won the opening face off but a quick stop by our defense allowed for a successful clear that eventually moved the ball into senior midfielder Jacob Smith's stick, who dodged and scored the game winner. Coach Rexford and the team could not have been more thrilled to have won that game and we can't wait to get after it Saturday against Chase.
