Is Donald Trump's Refusal of Defeat Delaying Covid-19 Vaccines?
Posted 11/20/2020 01:57PM

Unable to land hits on Biden, Trump paints him as socialist Trojan horse

There have been an abundance of rumors that Donald Trump is sabotaging the transition of Joe Biden becoming the president officially. The evidence very much so supports the claim. There are claims that he is refusing to coordinate with Joe Biden specifically on the crucial Covid19 Vaccines, and to accept defeat. Trump's false accusations of nationwide voter fraud and his violation of the ritual of transferring power between administrations are democracy-damaging aberrations in the eyes of the people. Trump and his administration threaten to cause practical fallout that could damage and delay Joe Biden's transition into office.

During this time, increasing concerns arise that Trump's obstruction and delayment will complicate and slow down the production and delivering of the Covid-19 vaccines. Millions of people need this vaccine now, that has proven to effectively eliminate more than 90% of all infections, but will have to wait till Trump accepts defeat. This delays the prospect of going back to everyday, normal life. Life without masks, social distancing, and other precautions; to bring back the joys and simple pleasures we loved to participate in that Covid-19 has denied us.

The operation and process of the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine is a chaotic process, with important decisions to be made. This delay in the transition of one president going into office while one comes out, will only make these decisions harder and prevent people from being exposed to COVID-19. We all want to get back to how everyday life was before the pandemic, before we had to wear masks, socially distance, and be so cautious of our surroundings and with whom we surround ourselves. We don't know who will get the vaccine first, and there's a lot of different opinions on how we should do this, but no one gets the vaccine if we can't get back on track, sort out this dilemma we find ourselves in as a country.

Tradition was broken, and that tradition was a smooth transition from one president to another, no matter what political party or political beliefs. Every president that has come before us in history has understood that in the long run, everyone has the mindset of improving and supporting this country. Even more, it is just adding onto a list of problems that complicates and worsens our pandemic, worsens all of our problems. Also, Trump's recount in the state of Wisconsin will cost him $7.9 million. This recount will delay the procedure of putting a new president in office. We as a country have been so focused on the election, the drama and controversy surrounding the election, that we sometimes forget we are still in a pandemic, and we can't live like this forever. We need to achieve the goal of destroying this virus, to help out those who need it, and prevent people from contracting the virus that haven't already had the virus. We need to focus on the distribution and procedure behind the Covid-19 vaccine. Who gets it first, in what area, why do they get it first, and how all these decisions are going to be made.

With the delay of transition from one president to another, we are only negatively impacting our global pandemic today. Trump not only needs to proceed with the responsible ritual of passing down the position in office to the next commander-in-chief, but he needs to communicate with Joe Biden about complications and problems we face today. No candidate really loses an election because everyone has our country's best interests in mind, no matter if you disagree on how it's done, or the action or idea itself, but when you're risking more lives to be taken by the virus, your risking the safety of our country all for what, to delay a transition that will eventually be enforced, this obstruction will delay and negatively impact the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine, and our goal of getting back to normal, everyday life, one with no masks, one in which no one has to worry about the strict precautions. People can socialize and get back to the way things used to be, but not if Trump delays Biden's transition into presidency, for the better of this country, I feel he should accept defeat and move out of office. Thank you for your time.
