A Call for Art and Action!

In connection with an open call for art from the J. Paul Getty Museum and Amplifier, Wooster's Art Club, Studio Art, and Humanities 1 and 2 have been releasing their inner artists to create a piece of art around the theme "In Pursuit Of___." After watching a "masterclass" video from Aaron Huey, a National Geographic photographer and founder of Amplifier, our students got busy! They determined something they are in pursuit of in their lives and documented their passion, commitment, or concern with photographs. Then they wrote about their issue. After crystallizing their ideas into a slogan, they combined their photo and text to create a powerful piece of art!

Students have the option to submit their art to the contest to win a chance for their work to be included in an exciting Amplifier projection series in cities nationwide and in a special J. Paul Getty exhibit in 2021! ALL students are able to participate!

So far, Presley Damiano, Selah Hess, and Elise Newman have submitted their pieces to the campaign! Please visit the "In Pursuit Of..." website to vote for their fantastic artwork! You will see lots of other terrific pursuits on display!

The contest is open until 12/11/20.

About WiNK

WiNK (“Wooster Ink”) is Wooster School’s online student news publication. WiNK serves as the student voice of our community, and provides readers with a weekly overview of what's happening in our students' lives, and it gives students a chance to share their interests and voices. The majority of the content is developed in our Upper School Journalism classes, but we also accept contributions from other students and faculty members.
