How the Coronavirus Vaccines Have Helped the Economy Since the Election
Posted 11/20/2020 01:56PM

It has been a crazy year for the United States. Ever since the Coronavirus Pandemic, the economy has had a very rough time. The stock market in particular has had a lot of uncertainty; in the beginning of the pandemic the market basically crashed. But after the election, two promising vaccines were announced and they are both proving to be at least over 90% effective.

With the presidential election this year, Wall Street has had a lot of uncertainty and investors have been in a very tough position with the way the market is due to the pandemic. This election would either make the market sink or it would sky rocket.

During the week of the election, the market (like all of us) had a very weird week. After Election Day passed, we still did not know who the president-elect was. On Saturday, November 7th, former Vice President Joe Biden and California Senator Kamala Harris were announced the winners of the 2020 Election. The next week the market had a great week. The Dow Jones soared and other large corporations' stocks soared as well. That same week two vaccines were announced and that made the Dow Jones and the whole stock market overall have another record setting day. The market has had an incredible two weeks with Joe Biden being elected President and the vaccines both coming out as 90% effective. But the question is just simply "why?"

The answer to that question is simply that people have their own opinions and I will state my opinion in this case. The market has done so well because of the COVID-19 vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine is desperately needed, with the U.S. setting records for new cases and increase in hospitalizations. President Trump said that 20 million Americans will be vaccinated by the end of December and the reason for all the cases is because of mass testing. We feel that the vaccine is here because President Trump put Operation Warp Speed into effect to guarantee the vaccine by the end of this year. We feel that President Trump deserves credit for this vaccine and for the stock market going crazy in the past two weeks because we believe he is responsible for the two vaccines in record time. The vaccines are promising and that is a big deal for this pandemic. If enough people in the USA are vaccinated particularly the elderly that could put an end to this pandemic.
