Basketball Memories of Last Year
Posted 01/15/2021 01:49PM

The present pandemic has affected just about everyone's daily lives, from major to minor impacts and everywhere in between. It has been difficult to navigate our once normal ways of doing things with the barrier of COVID-19, and girls basketball has been one of our normal ways of doing things that has been one of the many things impacted by COVID-19.

Last year, the girls basketball team was a fairly new team last year with many new players, and although it was unclear how the season would play out the team meshed really well together, and it started to show on the court. The team had fun with each other on and off the court, whether it was team lunches, learning new drills at practice, blackouts on game day, trying to make half court shots at the end of practice, pasta nights, McDonald's trips after away games, team TikToks, or sardine room before games, we always were having fun together. The closing of school due to the Coronavirus only occurred shortly after our basketball season had ended (school closed the day after our last game in New England's), and no one would have ever imagined then that our fun, thriving, energetic basketball season would shift drastically the next year. This year our basketball season has been extremely different than the past season, everything we have done in the past as a team is pretty much off the table this season. On the bright side there are some ways we are able to sharpen our skills

and collaborate as a team; it just looks completely different this year. So far an email and sign up sheet has been sent out to players weekly for an hour long practice on usually Saturdays. It is really productive attending those practices. We feel somewhat of the normalcy of seeing our teammates while honing our skills in basketball. Overall you can definitely say this season of basketball has made a shift from last year's season but the way we are doing things this year is definitely keeping us safe while allowing us to play.

Here are some of our memories from last year:
