Fortnite Chapter 3 Season Three 3

By: Owen Michalowski

Introduction

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is about to end. This is the third Fortnite season that I have played and it has been my favorite so far. I have played all of chapter three however I did not play Fortnite in Chapters 1 and 2. In Chapter 3 Season 1, I was still figuring the game out and I only got one win. In Chapter 3 Season 2, I got many more wins and I liked the blimps over each POI. My main complaint with Season 2 was there were some overpowered items that don't belong in the game such as tanks, battle buses, and the drum shotgun. When it was time for Chapter 3 Season 3 I was very excited.

The Map

When Chapter 3 Season 3 launched there were two new POIs; these POIs were Reality Falls and Rave Cave. Also, Greasy Grove was re-skinned. Throughout the season, the reality tree grew at different locations and those locations were re-skinned to change themes every game. Also, because Darth Vader was the main skin in the battle pass, there was a Star Wars area that would rotate to different places throughout the map where you could fight Darth Vader and get his mythic lightsaber weapon. Also, Shuffled Shrines was added later in the season for the challenges to unlock the Indiana Jones skin. The desert biome was my least favorite area but even that had a pretty cool POI in Rocky Reels.

Overall, I would give the map throughout the season a 7.5 out of 10.

Weapons

When Chapter 3 Season 3 launched, three new weapons were added; these weapons were the two-shot shotgun, the hammer assault rifle, and the DMR. The meta loadout for most of this season was shotgun, SMG, heals, mobility, and AR. For the majority of the season, my preferred weapons were the striker pump shotgun, the combat SMG (which was vaulted later in the season), chug splashes, shockwaves, and the AUG (aka striker burst rifle). I think Epic did a good job having multiple shotguns that were fun to use and effective. The striker pump, auto, prime, and the two shots after it got buffed were all solid options and there was no overpowered or game-deciding shotgun in zero build mode. In build mode, I think the best shotgun was between the striker pump and the prime (which was added later in the season) because they had the best headshot damage. SMGs have been very overpowered in this chapter. The combat SMG was in my opinion the best gun in the game while it was out. It was overpowered in both build and zero build mode because it had a high fire rate and did a lot of damage. When it was vaulted the stinger SMG took over as the best SMG. Also, the charge SMG was added but it was probably the worst gun in the game. For assault rifles there were many good options these include the AUG (aka striker burst rifle), combat AR, hammer AR, and the less good but still decent ranger AR. There were a few others but they were not very good. The reason I think the AUG is so good is that it is first person so you can see people better from long range.

Overall I would rate the weapons this season 8/10. My only complaint is that at the end of the season the loot pool got messed up because there were so many weapons.

Battle Pass / Skins

The battle pass this season was great because there were so many skins that I was happy to play as. Also, the main skin at the end of it was Darth Vader and since I am a big Star Wars fan I was very excited to play as that skin. Also, I thought Malik, Stormfarer, Evie, and Adria were great skins. Indiana Jones was a bonus skin unlocked by doing challenges. I unlocked both styles and they were very cool. There were some cool gliders and pickaxes that were also in the battle pass.

Overall, I think this season had a great battle pass and great skins. I would rate this season's battle pass 9/10.

Conclusion

This was a great season of Fortnite and I had so much fun playing it. I think it went on a little too long. However, there were some really cool collabs such as Star Wars and Dragon Ball Z. Also the new weapons added were very fun to use. I also liked the battle pass and skins. The map changes throughout the season were cool and kept the game exciting. I can't wait for Chapter 3 Season 4 and I'm hoping to cop many more dubs.
