Week 10

Last week's standings:

Division- East

  1. Ms. Thaler- The Stanley Kupp (6-3)
  1. Ms. Lingenheld- NY State of Mind (6-3)
  1. Mr. Lingenheld- WIN Time (5-4)
  1. Mr. DeRienzo- The Dragon Slayers (5-4)
  1. Mr. Fischer- Austin 3:16 (4-5)
  1. Mr. Newbury- Executive Fumbling (3-6)

Division: West

  1. Coach Moskowitz and Mr. Levy- 203 Orthrus (7-2)
  1. Mr. Carone- Speed Rules (6-3)
  1. Mr. Byrnes- Puppy Bowl (4-5)
  1. Mr. Jackson- BKLYN's OWN (3-6)
  1. Mr. Sacco- Sacco Squad (3-6)
  1. Mr. Swallen- Antonio's Exit Plan (2-7)

Game 1:

BKLYN's OWN (Mr. Jackson) VS. WIN Time (Mr. Lingenheld)

Score:

(3-7) Jackson- 95.14 (6-4) Lingenheld- 103.66

MVP: WIN Time's Jeff Wilson Jr. (22.3 fantasy points)
LVP: BKLYN's OWN's Najee Harris (9.9 fantasy points)

This was yet another extremely disappointing week for Mr. Jackson and his squad. In total, the team had 85.14 fantasy points with only two players getting above 10 points. There were many players to choose from for the LVP awards, but Najee Harris deserves this award. For this year's draft, Najee was a first round pick. Every week, he seemed to get worse and worse putting up average numbers at best. If Mr. Jackson wants to start winning, he needs a breakthrough from Najee along with many other players. At this point in the season, BKLYN's OWN now has to focus on not getting last place instead of focusing on making the playoffs. Mr. Jackson now has a record of 3-7.

After every week, WIN Time keeps winning. Even though the team only put up 103.66 fantasy points this week, Mr. Lingenheld found a way to get a win. Mr. Lingenheld had to deal with a lot of players on the bye week including star running back, Joe Mixon. All he needed to get this week was a win, and it did not matter how he got it. Even with Raheem Mostart (Miami running back) splitting time with him, Jeff Wilson (Miami Running back) put up a very good 22.3 fantasy points which guided WIN Time to the win this week. ESPN Fantasy gave Mr. Lingenheld a 73% chance at making the playoffs, so as of right now, that is all Mr. Lingenheld should be focusing on. There are only a couple things that WIN Time needs to fix to become one of the league's top teams. The team now has a record of 6-4.

Game 2:
Puppy Bowl (Mr. Byrnes) VS. The Dragon Slayer (Mr. DeRienzo)

Score:

(5-5) Byrnes- 165.58 (5-5) DeRienzo- 109.78

MVP: Puppy Bowl's Justin Fields (39.38 fantasy points)
LVP: The Dragon Slayer's running backs (10.8 combined fantasy points)

Mr. Byrnes has won yet again and this time he destroyed Mr. DeRienzo. Puppy Bowl put up a staggering 165 fantasy points. It always helps when 4 out of your 10 players score over 20 points. Justin Fields was a clear MVP winner for this week. It has been two weeks straight that he has scored around 40 points, and he shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. Another player on the team who has been playing well is Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders). This WR put up 20 fantasy points, and if he can heat up, Mr. Byrnes may not lose again. Mr. Byrnes now has a .500 record after a dominating week, sitting at 5-5.

Even though Mr. DeRienzo only put up 105 points and got destroyed by Mr. Byrnes, there still are some positive takeaways from this week. First of all, The Dragon Slayer has two very good WRs. Stefon Diggs and Tyreek Hill are the only reason that this team has a record anywhere close to what it is today. Now that the playoffs are coming up, this team can't rely on these two guys anymore. Mr. DeRienzo has to get somebody else that will help the team because it is really hard to go anywhere without a good all around team. Another positive is that Mr. DeRienzo does not have a losing record yet. Once a team has a losing record, they are practically out of the playoffs, so if The Dragon Slayer does not win next week, they will most likely not make the playoffs. It will all come down to next week as Mr. DeRienzo now has a record of 5-5.

Game 3:

203 Orthrus (Mr. Moskowitz and Mr. Levy) VS. Austin 3:16 (Mr. Fischer)

Score:

(7-3) Moskowitz and Levy- 77.9 (5-5) Fischer- 119.54

MVP: Austin 3:16's Patrick Mahomes (31.14 fantasy points)
LVP: 203 Orthrus' Zach Ertz (2.2 fantasy points)

Coming from a 7-3 team, this was one of the worst fantasy weeks that has ever been recorded. Five out of the team's 10 players got less than 5 fantasy points. Mr. Moskowitz can definitely blame their team for this loss, but they can also blame themselves. For the second week in a row, 203 Orthrus started Deon Jackson who has been listed as "out" for both of these weeks. Maybe if Mr. Moskowitz decided to check his lineup then the game would have been closer. At this point in the regular season, Mr. Moskowitz and Mr. Levy's team has basically already made the playoffs, so maybe they just decided not to check their team until then. 77.9 fantasy points is very bad, so something has to be done to prevent this from happening again. The team now has a record of 7-3.

Mr. Fischer just doesn't seem to lose. At the beginning of the season, this team had a 1-4 record. Now, they have gone 4-1 in the past 5 games and now sit at a .500 record. This team has come a long way and they are pushing into the back half of the season with a full head of steam. ESPN Fantasy gives the team a 68 percent chance at making the playoffs which is just incredible knowing just how bad this team used to be. Patrick Mahomes got awarded this matchup's MVP because of his dominant performance against the Jaguars. He put up 31 fantasy points showing how he is still one of the league's top quarterbacks if not the top one. As long as all of these players stay healthy, Mr. Fischer will 100% make the playoffs. He now has a 5-5 record.

Game 4:

NY State of Mind (Ms. Lingenheld) VS. Russell Can't Cook (Mr. Sacco)

Score:

(7-3) Lingenheld- 138.2 (3-7) Sacco- 115.0

MVP: NY State of Mind's Jonathan Taylor (24.3 fantasy points)
LVP: Russell Can't Cook's Chuba Hubbard (1.4 fantasy points)

This was a needed week for Ms. Lingenheld. After speaking with Ms. Thaler for the past couple of weeks, she was saying how nervous Ms. Lingenheld has been about her team. This week set NY State of Mind's mind straight as they put up 138 points in this week's win. There was one very important player for Ms. Lingenheld and that player was Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor was Ms. Lingenheld's #1 round pick in this year's draft, and so far, he has been very disappointing. This week was different as he broke out for 24.3 fantasy points. NY State of Mind's team is very scary with the good Taylor. There is a lot to look forward to for Ms. Lingenheld as she now has a record of 7-3.

Mr. Sacco put up some of the best numbers that he has had in a long time. 115 points is impressive for someone that starts Chuba Hubbard on a weekly basis. Most of these points were all thanks to Justin Jefferson who had one of the most amazing games as a WR in a while. It is too bad that all of his skills were put to waste on Russell Can't Cook. Most of the other teams would have one if they had this amazing wide receiver. Usually, if you are a sports team that has excellent talent but a bad team, you trade that excellent talent away. In fantasy football, your team is only for a year, so Mr. Sacco can't do anything to help his future anymore. All he can do now is just hope that his team does not come in last place because his team is for sure not making the playoffs. Russell Can't Cook now has a record of 3-7.

Game 5:

Antonio's Exit Plan (Mr. Swallen) VS. The Stanley Kupp (Ms. Thaler)

Score:

(3-7) Swallen- 113.7 (6-4) Thaler- 101.94

MVP: Antonio's Exit Plan's James Conner (23.6 fantasy points)
LVP: The Stanley Kupp's Cooper Kupp (2.9 fantasy points)

Even though his season is basically already over, this was a huge win for Mr. Swallen. No, it was not for bragging rights. This win tied him with Mr. Sacco, Mr. Jackson, and Mr. Newbury for the worst record in the league. One notable player for Antonio's Exit plan this week was James Connor (MVP). The MVP of this matchup had 23.6 fantasy points which is very good for him. James Connor had a very successful season last year, and all Mr. Swallen needs right now is for him to return to that form. This game could be one step toward that form. 3-7 may not be a good record, but it is 100% better than 2-8 as Mr. Swallen and his squad head into Week 11.

After getting the chance to talk with Ms. Thaler this week, I took one thing out of it. Ms. Thaler is worried. She is afraid her team just might be done after a very tough loss to Mr. Swallen. Usually there is no need to worry after a bad loss, but Ms. Thaler lost the most valuable asset to her team this week. Cooper Kupp underwent surgery on his ankle after injuring it on Sunday against Arizona. Kupp will be out several weeks, and Ms. Thaler will have to survive without him until he comes back. Usually losing one player won't hurt a team that much but Cooper Kupp is the best, most consistent receiver. This week, Ms. Thaler had a chance to win coming into Monday night. She needed 19 points from Curtis Samuel, but that didn't happen. The best thing that Ms. Thaler can do right now is move onto next week as she now has a 6-4 record.

Game 6:

Speed Rules (Mr. Carone) VS. Executive Fumbling (Mr. Newbury)

Score:

(7-3) Carone- 131.34 (3-7) Newbury- 130.2

MVP: Speed Rules' Dalvin Cook (23.6 fantasy points)
LVP: Executive Fumbling's Clyde Edwards-Helaire (0 fantasy points)

Mr. Carone stays on fire after escaping out of a close game this week. It would have been very embarrassing losing to a team like Executive Fumbling, but Speed Rules didn't let that happen. Mr. Carone's team played an all around amazing game this week. 7 of the 10 players got more than 10 points, and only 1 player got less than 7 points. Dalvin Cook got this week's MVP award. He put up 23.6 in a very solid performance against the Bills. There was only one very questionable move made by Mr. Carone this week. Speed Rules decided to start Russell Wilson. The Broncos QB seems to ruin every team that he is on and that is why this game was so close. Mr. Carone needs to make a change so that he isn't starting Russell Wilson every week as he now has a record of 7-3.

Like a lot of the other 3-7 teams, playoffs isn't an option anymore for Mr. Newbury and his squad. ESPN Fantasy gives the team a 1% chance of making the playoffs and that is stretching it. The main goal that Executive Fumbling needs to focus on is not being the last place team. Scoring 130 points usually would help you get the win, but sadly Mr. Newbury was unlucky with his opponent. Mr. Newbury started Clyde Edwards-Helaire and that came back to haunt him as the disappointing running back scored a poor 0 fantasy points. Executive Fumbling has to move on from Helaire as he has not had a single good game this season. Other than that, this team has a good chance at not being the last place team going into week 11 with a 3-7 record.
