Is Vladimir Putin A Killer?

Recently, President Joe Biden has accused the President of Russia Vladimir Putin of being a killer. The United States and Russia have had a - let's say - complicated relationship over the years, with ups and downs. In recent years the relationship between our country and Russia has been somewhat stable with events of controversy appearing at times. Most recently, Russia had been accused of meddling in the 2016 presidential election, a campaign between former president Donald Trump, and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Russia was accused of interfering with the election benefiting and helping former president Trump win the candidacy. All though Russia never admitted to its illegal participation in this election, but evidence and speculations point in the direction that they did in fact interfere.

These controversies struck and our trust and relationship with Russia worsened. Former President Trump was a Republican, and President Biden is a Democrat and obviously the democrats are going to speculate that there definitely was illegal interference promoting former President Trump to be elected in 2016 on the behalf of Russia, rightfully so. That dilemma prompted President Biden to make a statement re-accusing Vladimir Putin on his and his country's ill advised and illegal participation in the 2016 election, stating that eventually justice will be served for this interference and that Vladimir Putin will "pay the price" for this scandal.

Not only did Biden reassure the public about the election scandal, but also accused Vladimir Putin of being a ruthless killer in this same ABC news last Thursday night. President Biden was asked if he believed that Vladimir Putin was a killer, he responded "I do." He later stated he had no regrets about calling Putin a killer. This statement made by President Biden caused a response from Putin, he said "whoever calls names gets called those names," which

essentially it means "it takes one to know one." Putin then turned around and accused the United States on Russian Television of "committing genocide against native Americans and "exterminating civilians during World War Two by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki." A spokesman for Vladimir Putin said that the accusations demonstrate that President Biden has no intention on stabilizing a relationship with Russia. The spokesman also said the relationship between the United States and Russia is "very bad," foreshadowing that the relationship will only get worse. Jen Psaki, a White House spokesperson said "relations between Russia and the US would be different than under the Trump presidency."

What's different about President Biden's accusations against Russian leader Vladimir Putin is he is talking about modern day killings and illegal activity on behalf of him and his country. He is also accusing Putin himself of killings, illegal activity, and abuse of power. Putin's rebuttal was claiming our country is a murderous country, using the bombs dropped on Japan as his evidence. The difference is Biden's accusation is a present day dilemma, while his rebuttal was a dilemma in his past, one out of Biden's hands. The bombings were horrible, all the lives ones and all the pain it brought, but they were dropped in response to the malicious attack on Pearl Harbor; while Putin's accused killings are just cold blooded, present day executions.

The accusation directed towards Vladimir Putin is that his security services tried to assassinate opposed party politician Alexei Navalyn. A spokesman for Putin claimed the U.S. had no evidence or proof of these accusations. In addition, Russian citizens have been spreading false rumors about Biden. Russian media have stated that president Biden has crossed a line, interpreting the statement as a "direct insult." Putin offered to host an online conversation, feeling that an "open direct discussion would be appealing. This discussion has not taken place yet.

In a previous interview when in the position of Vice President under Barack Obama, Biden said to Vladimir Putin that he didn't believe he had a soul when looking into his eyes. Since Putin was a former part of the Soviet Secret Service, Biden called him a "KGB thug." He recently stated Russia will "pay the price" for their interference in the 2016 election. When asked what that price will be he said, "you will see." The U.S. will be placing sanctions on Russia.

All in all, it seems as though President Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will not be exchanging Christmas cards next year. President Biden's stayed accusations needed to be said, as I believe that justice needs to be served for meddling in the 2016 election. And, for potentially ordering the attempted murder on Alexei Navalyn. Justice needs to be served as well as preventing future illegal activities. The relationship with Russia seems as if it will get worse, but steps need to be taken to protect people around the world, protect our country, and prevent the US from receiving any illegal actions from Russia. Let's see how this plays out. Thank you. Have a great day.
