Howie Roseman Needs To Be Fired

Howie Roseman is the general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles and is one of the worst GMs in the NFL right now. Roseman had proven to be a completely incompetent GM and is terrible with drafting and decision making. Two reasons Howie Roseman should be fired are: #1, he is terrible at drafting; and #2, he makes terrible decisions.

Throughout his 10 year tenure as GM, Howie Roseman has been terrible with drafting most of the time, especially with wide receivers. During his time as GM, he has only drafted two players that have gotten over 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Last year in the 2020 NFL Draft, one of the easiest draft pick decisions in NFL history was messed up by... Howie Roseman. Justin Jefferson, who played for LSU - a historically great college team, fell to the Eagles late in the 1st round. Jefferson had 1,540 yards in his last year of college and won the National Championship and was passed on for some no name kid out of TCU named Jalen Reagor. The reason for getting Reagor was apparently for speed because Roseman wanted the Eagles to have a fast receiver core. This is made even more ridiculous considering Justin Jefferson had a faster 40 time at the combine. In his rookie season, Justin Jefferson broke multiple rookie records including records set by Hall of Famer Randy Moss. Jefferson had 1,400 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns and 88 catches. Jalen Reagor, on the other hand, got injured and missed 4 games and only had a measly 31 catches, 396 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The quarterbacks for both Jefferson and Reagor also played at very different levels, and a part of why Reagors's quarterback played worse than normal is because of Roseman. He drafted a terrible quarterback in the 2nd round named Jalen Hurts. This not only put pressure on the Eagles' starting quarterback, Carson Wentz, for most of the 2020 season, but it created distrust within the organization. To be fair, even if you ignore the pressure put on Wentz due to Roseman, Wentz did play terribly by himself because he was forcing passes, trying to make plays when he should have taken a sack, and just tried to do too much.

Overall the Eagles organization is just terrible. The GM needs to be fired. The owner Jeffrey Lurie is - in my opinion - an idiot and the same owner that has allowed Howie Roseman to be a GM and ruin the team for a decade although he has been a terrible GM. Lurie has enabled Howie to do whatever he wants and keep making terrible decisions and he deserves a lot of the blame for the Eagles being a bad franchise as well.

To conclude, the Philadelphia Eagles will never have a chance at a Superbowl run again until Howie Roseman is fired, and even with him fired, will still not have a good chance until their terrible owner Jeffrey Lurie is out of the organization too... oh, and I hate being an Eagles fan.
