Mock Draft Version 2, With Trades (by Gus, and Jacob)

The last time we did a mock draft it was pre-free agency so now we are doing another one. We have updated it after all of the injuries, the combine, and the pro-day workouts.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

Travon Walker (DL, Georgia)

Travon Walker is the best athlete in this draft, he is an absolute freak, he's 6'5 272, and runs a 4.51, the best part about his 40-time is that he shows that speed in tape, Travon Walker was a staple in the dominant 2021 Georgia defense.

  1. Detroit Lions

Aidan Hutchinson (Edge, Michigan)

Aidan Hutchinson is a freak athlete. He is not falling past this pick. If the Jaguars pass on him he is going to the lions because he is the hometown guy he went to Michigan.

  1. Houston Texans

Ikem Ekwonu (T/G, North Carolina State)

Ikem Ekwonu is the perfect fit for the Houston Texans, they are trying to build a team that can compete, and the 1st objective should be getting a good line, and with Ikem Ekwonu's versatility, and his unreal guard tape he'd be the perfect fit for a team who arguably has their two tackles sorted out.

  1. New York Jets

Evan Neal (T, Alabama)

The Jets need an o-line. They do have Mekhi Becton and Laken Tomlinson, but they don't have anyone else for those other three spots. Evan Neal if he falls to this spot is going to be a great pick.

  1. New York Giants

Charles Cross (T, Mississippi State)

The Giants have made it clear that they want to build around Daniel Jones, so why not start him out with some protection, Andrew Thomas is a solid starter for the left tackle position, but I think Cross could maybe even move Thomas over to right tackle just because of how dominant he is in pass protection.

  1. North Carolina Panthers

Malik Willis (QB, Liberty)

I like this pick. The Panthers desperately need a quarterback, and Mallik Willis during the combine and his pro day proved that he is an amazing prospect. He proved that he is a really good dual-threat QB who has a good arm along with fast legs.

TRADE:

Eagles Trade: 2022 1st (15th), 2023 2nd, 2024 3rd, Andre Dillard, Jalen Reagor

Seahawks Trade: 2022 1st (7th), 2023 4th, 2024 7th

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner (CB, Cincinnati)

Sauce is the best CB in this class. He is the best zone coverage corner and since 2019 there has been 1 red zone catch on him after 115 throws to his direction. Sauce would be coming into a best-case scenario for him, the Eagles already have the other two corner slots filled with two of the top PFF-graded corners at their position, Slay is a top 5 CB1, and Maddox was ranked in the top 10 at the slot corner position.

  1. Atlanta Falcons

Garret Wilson (WR, Ohio State)

Garrett Wilson is the best WR in this class. It can be debated that Drake London or Jameson Williams will be better but as of right now he is probably going to go first of all WR. The Falcons just lost their #1 WR in Calvin Ridley due to his suspension, and they need a WR.

  1. Seattle Seahawks

Kayvon Thibodeaux (Edge, Oregon)

KT could debatably be higher. He has had some behavioral and effort issues. He is a power rusher who is off the edge, he has some issues coming off the bend. Just like other Oregon prospects like Justin Herbert they like to drop them because of an odd mistrust of Oregon prospects.

  1. New York Jets

Jermaine Johnson II (DE, Florida State)

The Jets along with needing an O-line also could use a few Edge rushers. Jermaine Johnson is a freak and Florida State has been known to produce freak athletes on the defensive side. It is debating whether he goes here or if he goes #9 instead of KT.

  1. Washington Commanders

Kyle Hamilton (SS, Notre Dame)

Kyle Hamilton is overrated. He is a good player but he can't play safety. His knocks come from his horrible man coverage tape, and his iffy up top play, he only fits in the box, and it's a debate whether a team will even take him top 15. If the Commanders draft him here they will probably do something like the Cardinals did with Isaiah Simmons and make him a linebacker.

  1. Minnesota Vikings

Derek Stingley Jr. (CB, LSU)

Derek Stingley went from a top 10 prospect to maybe a top 15, he had an amazing pro day, however, this doesn't sell him enough to go top 10 in our opinion, he's the gambling player of this draft, he either will, or won't work out, and there won't be any in between.

  1. Houston Texans

Jameson Williams (WR, Alabama)

Everyone knew the Texans would build around Davis Mills this offseason, they got a king's ransom for Deshaun Watson, and we have them turning it into another top-tier weapon for Davis Mills to play with.

  1. Baltimore Ravens

Jordan Davis (DT, Georgia)

Jordan Davis is one of the harder players to project during the draft, he is arguably a guaranteed stud, but his size and his tape tell us he may not be the best fit as a pass rusher, and will probably not be a 3 down defensive tackle, but if he was able to learn from Calais Campbell he'd probably end up as a good DT for the rest of his career.

  1. New York Giants

Trent McDuffie (CB, Washington)

With the Giants being expected to trade James Bradberry by the beginning of the season we expect them to go corner at least once in this draft, Trent McDuffie is the 2nd best corner prospect this year, he's 5'11, but plays much bigger than that, he's a physical, and very strong corner.

  1. New Orleans Saints

Drake London (WR, USC)

Drake London is probably going to be drafted higher in the real draft, however, his rare athleticism at his height and his amazing hands make him a near-perfect big-bodied wide receiver prospect, but his injuries can definitely cause him to fall.

  1. Los Angeles Chargers

Trevor Penning (OT, Northern Iowa)

Trevon Penning is a perfect image of Jordan Mailata, he'll give up a few penalties, but he'll be a rough pass blocker who won't

TRADE:

Lions: 2022 1st (32nd), 2022 2nd (34th)

Eagles: 2022 1st (18th), 2022 3rd (83rd)

  1. Detroit Lions

Kenny Pickett (QB, Pittsburgh)

The Lions could use a QB. Jared Goff is definitely out of his prime. The Lions should take a QB with their second pick as they do need a franchise QB. I don't think he'll get any playing time during this season if they are to pick him, but he could be their guy long-term.

  1. New Orleans Saints

Tyler Linderbalm (C, Iowa)

Tyler Linderbalm is an insane prospect. He is the best center in this draft. The Saints desperately need a prospect on the O-line after the departure of multiple of their linemen, Linderbalm would most likely not play center in New Orleans, they'd probably move him to guard as they already have stud center, Erik McCoy.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers

Zion Johnson (G, Boston College)

The Steelers run game was elite last year, Najee Harris is looking like the next best running back, their O-Line improvement will only help him, while we may decently against the idea of building around a running back Najee is looking like he could be the next Frank Gore, and have the durability that lasts decades.

  1. New England Patriots

Chris Olave (WR, Ohio State)

The patriots need a WR to pair up with Jakobi Meyers and Davante Parker. Chris Olave is a nice speedy receiver, he is 6'1 180 has good hands, and is a jack of all trades. To pair along with a young QB the patriots could also use a young WR, and if they go Olave then Davante Parker could be a good mentor.

  1. Green Bay Packers

Treylon Burks (WR, Arkansas)

Treylon Burks is debatably better than Chris Olave as he is bigger and is a better deep ball receiver. With the Packers losing their #1 WR in Davante Adams they need to get someone like Treylon Burks.

  1. Arizona Cardinals

Devonte Wyatt (DI, Georgia)

The Cardinals could use some help on the D-line. They don't need that much help, but non the less they could use some help. Devonte Wyatt is a great prospect and he was able to help Georgia win the national championship.

  1. Dallas Cowboys

George Karlaftis (EDGE, Purdue)

A lot of people have George Karlaftis higher than this. The reason why we have him falling this far is due to the fact that he has small arms and might have trouble reaching the QB. The Cowboys desperately need an LB, or EDGE and this is gonna be a good pick if they draft him here.

  1. Buffalo Bills

Andrew Booth Jr. (CB, Clemson)

The bill will most likely be going to CB. After the divisional round it proved their secondary isn't the best. Andrew Booth has proved with Clemson that he is one of the best corners in college football.

  1. Tennessee Titans

Boye Mafe (EDGE, Minnesota)

Boye Mafe is a round 2 player, his grade says it, his play reflects it, but it isn't a stretch to say the Titans will see his talent, and pick him up as a project player that they can develop into a star.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kenyon Green (G, Texas A&M)

Kenyon Green is a great prospect and if the buccaneers get him here it would be an absolute steal.

  1. Green Bay Packers

Bernhard Raimann (T, Central Michigan)

The Packers along with needing a WR need someone on the O-line. Like the saints the Packers lost a few of their lineman and at this point Raimann is the best prospect on the O-line.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

Kaiir Elam (CB, Florida)

The chiefs like the bill had their CB showed that their secondary needs improvement after the AFC championship against the Bengals. Kaiir Elam is a great coverage CB and in man coverage is one of the best in this draft.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

Jahan Dotson (WR, Penn State)

He's been the definition of late 1st round talent his whole career at Penn State, he was a great wide receiver and was a key component in that offense, however, he is a slot wide receiver, and he'd compete with MVS

  1. Cincinnati Bengals

Tyler Smith (T, Tulsa)

Before the update of the PFF big board, we'd look crazy putting someone who'd been at rank 80 in the first round, but talent is talent, and Tyler Smith has tons of it, he is a nasty blocker in the passing game, and would be a great left tackle for Joe Burrow to be protected by, and with Lael Collins on the right side, and Tyler on the Left they could very well repeat a Superbowl run.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

Devin Loyd (LB, Utah)

We had Devin Lloyd fall quite a bit, linebacker isn't that important of a position to draft in round 1, but the eagles definitely could use some talent there, Kyzir White was an amazing signing, but the Eagles are going to need a 3rd linebacker in their defense, and Lloyd would be great in the Jonathan Gannon scheme.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honorable Mentions for Round 2

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

Nakobe Dean (LB, Georgia)

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

George Pickens (WR, Georgia)

  1. New York Jets

Skyy Moore (WR, Western Michigan)

37. Houston Texans

David Ojabo (Edge, Michigan)

39. Chicago Bears

Christian Watson (WR, North Dakota State)

41. Seattle Seahawks

Sam Howell (QB, North Carolina)

51. Philadelphia Eagles

Tariq Woolen (CB, UTSA)

52. Pittsburgh Steelers

Desmond Ridder (QB, Cincinnati)

54. New England Patriots

Chad Muma (LB, Wyoming)

57. Buffalo Bills

Breece Hall (RB, Iowa State)

61. San Francisco 49ers

Jaquan Brisker (S, Penn State)
