NFL Weekly Disappointments: Week 12 (edition 2)

by: Jacob Cotton

Worst Game of the Week

49ers vs Saints (13-0)

I love some good defense, but I feel like saying the Saints offense was expected to do anything here is false because we all knew before this game the Saints were bad, but we didn't know they were 0 points bad. The 49ers offense isn't very fun to watch either, it just feels like they should be a 3-7 team, but they happen to have possibly the best defense in the league, Jimmy G isn't good, and them withholding us of CMC snaps isn't helping their case.

Biggest Blowout of the Week

Jets vs Bears (31-10)

The battle of the backups was never a good game for at least one of them, but when I watched the first drive there I was expecting a good game, Trevor Semian played very well, and the WRs were doing very well, Claypool was beating Sauce, and my GOAT Byron Pringle caught a TD vs DJ Reed, but then the Bears stopped being any good at all, and scored a singular field goal after that. Mike White is him; vote him MVP.

Biggest Embarrassment of the Week

Kliff Kingsbury's Coaching

It's official to everyone, despite the fact it was thought that everyone on the Cardinals hated Kingsbury Kyler had definitely confirmed that fact. I don't think Kyler Murray is a very good QB either, at best he might be average, but considering how bad the average QB is he may be above average. Kliff is finally on the outs despite how much everyone thought it should've happened last year he's going to be fired.

Fantasy Disappointment of the Week

Dameon Pierce (RB, Texans)

Now I'm not bashing him as his surrounding cast is among the worst in the NFL. Still, in terms of how people value him in fantasy his sell value may be the lowest since the beginning of the season, he's the only weapon on that offense not named Nico Collins, and defenses know that, so his chances to make big plays aren't significant.

Least Valuable Player of the Week

Russel Wilson (QB, Broncos)

Everyone on the Broncos HATES Russel Wilson, he has lost all of his leadership among the players, and despite his insane contract, he might get flat-out cut at the end of the season. It was very satisfying to watch someone finally yelling at Russ, and considering how well the Seahawks have been doing without him I'm starting to think he's always been the problem.

Runner-up for Least Valuable Person of the Week

Whoever Declined Josh Jacobs' Fifth-Year Option

Turns out Josh Jacobs is the best running back in the league all of the sudden, he took the Raiders declining his fifth-year option very personally. Whenever you watch him running he just looks angry, he powers through everyone, and generally is always a dominant force on any given play, he's good through the air, and on the ground.

Least Valuable Defensive Player (team) of the Week

The Seahawks Defense (Josh Jacobs owns Seattle)

Josh Jacobs has been an amazing RB this year, but Josh Jacobs might genuinely own the Seahawks defense, the offense was very good for Seattle, and the Pass defense wasn't even all that bad, but Josh Jacobs came in there and tore the Seahawks a new one with over 300 yards from scrimmage. I mean Josh Jacobs running in that game-winner and just running through everything with no moments where he was almost downed is wild.

Least Valuable Offensive Player of the Week

Tyler Boyd (WR, Bengals)

In a time of great opportunity, and need with Jamaar Chase out, and only Tee Higgins taking up targets Tyler Boyd did nothing, he has been a solid 3 most of his career, but when called upon to become a WR2 again he hasn't been all that explosive, or able to get open. His performance as a WR2 makes you wonder if he's even going to get a large-ish contract ever.
