Obviously, like most activities on campus, the fall play has had to adapt to many precautions to keep everyone safe but that hasn't stopped the cast and crew from meeting and practicing. They meet everyday after school either in the BlackBox theatre or in a fun space outside.
The show this year is Midsummer Night's Dream which is a Shakespeare play. When reaching out to the music director, Ms. Simard, I learned that the show will be presented as a podcast. The plan is to break up the five act play and record one act per week. The tech crew will also edit and add sound effects to make this a fun auditory experience.
When asked about how different rehearsals are this year, cast member Will Thaler (plays Peter Quince, a playwright, and Puck, a mischievous fairy), says that this year is very different from the previous years he has been involved. He says, "Since we can't act on the stage and this is all going to be recorded, we don't have to worry about blocking or memorizing. It's also a lot more laid-back since we have so much time to get it all done."
Overall, while many changes are made everyday, the cast and crew are happy to be able to get together and do what they love safely and while having fun. To learn about everybody involved check out the cast list below and get ready, they start recording this week!
