Winter Theater Plans

As the Winter trimester begins online a lot of things are changing, one being Wooster Theatre. Last trimester, the cast and crew really put their creativity and skill together to create a wonderful podcast-style performance for everyone to enjoy. This performance was based on A Midsummers Night's Dream (called A Midsummers Podcast) and can be accessed through the Wooster website if you want to listen.

As this five-act performance came to a close, the theatre department began to embark on a new project for this trimester. They have put together an "original musical revenue called 'The Black Box.'" For those who don't know, the Black Box is the name of the theatre used for rehearsals and performances. The students and Ms. Simard have been busy writing and creating characters in what they call a "Zoomsical" as this will be performed virtually.

As far as rehearsals go, the students meet on their designated google meet link from 4:30-5:30 everyday. So far, according to cast member Sadie Drahzal, "we've done a lot of character development and figuring out our characters' personalities." I would imagine this is something to put a lot of attention and care into when creating an original piece. They have also started working on songs and the like and matching singing parts with characters,

All in all, I am very excited about this project and I cannot wait for the cast and crew to share it with all of us!
