Soundbites and Bagels
Wooster kicked off the New Year welcoming back 8 Alumni to participate in a morning workshop on January 2, 2019 titled "Soundbites and Bagels." The purpose was to facilitate college and career connections between our recent Wooster graduates and the Senior class. This allowed for story-telling, lessons learned, and strategies to help ease the transition that college and post-college brings. Featured Alumni included - Shannon Carey '13, Rachel Lynch '14, Max Bratter '15, Drishti Choudhury '15, Kai Aronson '16, Kern Byrnes '17, Jacob Engelbrecht '17, and Bentley Jos '17. Workshops focused on specific topics like; wellness and healthcare, roommate problems, finding community, handling disappointment, study abroad options, money and finances, academic transitions, and setting up for post college success.
Many Seniors just coming off of the stressful college application process, found the event to be comforting. They felt it was nice to hear other people's stories of successes and failures, then thriving and feeling great about where they landed. From the Alumni perspective, Shannon Carey '13 enjoyed the day too stating, "I welcome any opportunity to return to campus. Each time brings a new adventure and the opportunity to see the changes being made."
