Mindfulness meditation can be more than sitting quietly with your eyes closed. This week, let's try something different. Let's take a mindfulness walk. Take 10-15 minutes (or longer) this weekend and be mindfully present as you walk outdoors. This video will help you get started.

Song Of The Week

With this week being the last week of academic classes for our Wooster seniors, I wanted to dedicate this week's song to them. Senior Send Off was originally scheduled for Friday, but had to be postponed to Monday because of the thunderstorm forecasted for Friday. The song of the week is going to be Vienna, by Billy Joel. If you pay close attention to the lyrics in this timeless classic, you see that the overarching message is that although the future is so close to us and it may seem like we are losing time, we should always remember every now and then to take a pause and just look at life around us. So for Seniors, yes, college may be right around the corner, but remember to just breathe every now and then and enjoy the moment.

Chapel Presentation

Even though Senior Send-off has been postponed for Monday, we are still entering into a time of transition for everyone at Wooster. The Seniors are preparing for SIS and graduation, the Juniors are starting to take over leadership from the senior class, and everyone is beginning to look toward the last days of the 2019-2020 school year. If we are honest, however, we have been in a period of transition since March as the entire school transitioned to distance learning.

Transitions can be difficult. This video comes out of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. It is a talk given by Christine Hong called, "The Art of Managing Transitions." In the talk, she identifies how we often experience transitions and gives us practical advice on how to manage them. We hope you find this useful.

Last Week As Chapel Prefect

With this week being my last week as the James Marshall Chapel Prefect, I wanted to take a moment to thank Reverend Tickner for helping me become comfortable with public speaking every week. It is a skill that will be useful for me in my future and I'm so grateful to have had the platform to practice the skill. Being the Chapel Prefect has been a great learning experience and I wish the best of luck to next year Chapel Prefect, Jillian Schnaudigel. I know she is going to be very successful and bring some new and exciting things to the Chapel Experience.
