Wooster School's 93rd Convocation
Posted 09/12/2018 10:32AM

On Friday, September 7, 2018, the official start to Wooster School's 93rd year began. The entire school gathered in the Forever Young Gymnasium for this special event.

Head of School, Matt Byrnes, welcomed the community and introduced Rev. Stephen Tickner who led everyone in the school prayer.

Continuing in a time honored tradition, Senior Prefects, Julia Bauer and Simon Felicione, led everyone in the reciting of the School Honor Code. Tradition continued as we celebrated Crayons to Commencement. Students who began their Wooster School careers in the Lower School, and are now seniors, were recognized. The eleven seniors were each presented with a box of crayons, symbolic of their early days on the campus of Wooster School.

The students recognized were: Reed Baker, Nicole Caraballo, Karelin Dominguez, Russell Elfont, Simon Felicione, Andrew Felton, Tristan Palinkas, Mimi Pelton-McCormick, Jacob Smith, Steven Unger, and Anthony Vines.

Mr. Byrnes then shared some remarks with the community, "If we are going to be mindful of our own personal footprint on the Earth, and here at Wooster School, we'll need to make changes for ourselves and help others to do the same. Let's pay attention to the little things and if we do that together, bigger things will happen for us and our community."

The event concluded with a faculty performance of "September."
