Posted 12/26/2014 02:23PM

Madison Becker '13 was recently accepted to attend the spring session of the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, which will begin in February 2015.

The program is described on the Disney College Program website as the following. "As a part of the Disney College Program, participants have the incredible opportunity to advance their strengths and interests, meet guests and cast members from around the country and take part in educational opportunities students can't get anywhere else. This truly unique program allows participants to network with leaders, take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service and effective communication."

Madison is currently on her way to earning a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College. Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) majors focus on building brands by designing and delivering unified promotional messages and experiences. This is a "degree program built on the merging of specific coursework from the Roy H. Park School of Communications and the School of Business. This major teaches students about the newly converging fields of advertising, public relations, sales promotion, and social/interactive marketing. Students learn how these specialized areas are combined into seamless communication programs for companies and their brands."

Madison's plan is to attend the spring semester with the Disney College Program for her sophomore year. She will then apply for a professional internship during her junior year in California with Disney Imagineering or Disney Corporate. Madison began her pursuit of working with Disney during her Senior Independent Study at Wooster School when she created her "Disney Immersion" for her SIS.

Congratulations Madison and we wish you well with the Disney College Program!
