Event Recap:

On Wednesday, September 17th, the GVS team had a game against Gunnery School.

Wooster started with the ball and the game was on. The teams went back and forth for a bit, and the game seemed even at the time. At a point through the first half, Alice Purkiss stole the ball and ran up the field along with Kat Mancinone. Alice scored an amazing first goal of the game. Wooster was looking good. When we didn’t expect it, the girls from Gunnery made a comeback. By the end of the first half, the score was 2-1, Gunnery in the lead.

Wooster was determined to get the lead back. The first four minutes were calm, more back and forth, but a little bit into the second half, Kat Mancinone got the ball and ran up the field, stormed past Gunnery’s defense, and kicked the ball perfectly into the goal. The game was tied. Those in attendance screamed. The spirit was unbelievable off the field. Gunnery wasn’t ready to be tied with Wooster, the ball went back and forth more, but much more aggressively now. All the girls were determined. Both teams wanted the win for their school. At 19 minutes, Alice Purkiss, once again, ran quickly past Gunnery’s defense and to their goal. Their goalie was prepared. Alice winded up and shot for the goal. The ball whirled past the goalie and into the net. The game was 3-2, Wooster now taking the lead. The Gunnery girls were getting even more aggressive, and so was Wooster. We weren’t ready to give up the game. Wooster kept the ball rolling around the field until the clock ran out and the buzzer blew. Wooster had won the game. The fans were incredibly loud, mainly with excitement. Wooster had taken home another win, and the team was more than happy.
